SEAT UK SELECTS TRACKER AS AUTHORISED ACCESSORY
SEAT UK has authorised the UK's leading stolen vehicle
recovery systems - TRACKER Retrieve and TRACKER Monitor
- in its range of SEAT accessories. This now means SEAT
UK customers can choose to have their vehicles fitted
with either system and put their feet up safe in the
knowledge their SEAT is protected by TRACKER.
Technical training is now taking place in dealerships
across the UK, which will allow dealers to fit the devices
on their premises. SEAT UK joins 34 other vehicle suppliers
and manufacturers giving their approval to TRACKER and
to date TRACKER is fitted to nearly 468,000 vehicles
in the UK and has helped retrieve more than 9,700 vehicles
worth £163 million.

Operated by all of the UK's 52 police forces, TRACKER
Retrieve and Monitor are electronic homing devices hidden
within a vehicle, which when activated in the event
of a theft, emit a silent signal allowing the police
to pinpoint the vehicle's whereabouts. TRACKER Retrieve
is activated when the owner notifies TRACKER if the
vehicle is stolen, whereas TRACKER Monitor incorporates
a remote sensor that alerts TRACKER HQ if the vehicle
is illegally moved.
TRACKER is accredited by the Association of Chief Police
Officers - the first stolen vehicle recovery company
to achieve this status - and is a partner with The Home
Office to help to try and achieve the government target
of reducing vehicle crime by 30% by 2004.
