Advances in automotive electronic design in recent years have meant that installing after market electronic accessories to vehicles has become a perilsome task! One of the most noteable changes has been the introduction of digital signalling to replace the standard "One Wire - One Function" design of automotive electrical systems. One such system is CAN Bus.
CAN (Controller Area Network) Bus wiring, also referred to as Multiplexed wiring is now common place in many modern vehicles. Unfortunately, this has meant that many standard connection points required when installing aftermarket equipment such as navigation, audio & communication systems are no longer detectable on the vehicle wiring, as they now exist as digital signals within the CAN Bus.
The CANM8 ("CAN Mate") range of interface products provide a solution to these installation problems. The product range includes a universal interface, CANM8-NAV, for installing Navigation, Audio, Taxi Meters and communication equipment to CAN Bus systems. Our CANM8-PARK interface, features a unique Speed Dependent 12v output, especially designed for controlling Front Parking Sensor systems. Another interface, CANM8-TOW provides an intelligent solution for installing towing electrics to vehicles with low voltage LED rear lighting or bulb check systems.
Our latest CAN Bus products allow direct manipulation of CAN based data. This provides many solutions for automotive applications, such as the speedometer conversion from KMH to MPH of imported CAN based vehicles and delimiting imported Japanese performance vehicles which use CAN systems - the Nissan 350Z , Nissan R35 Skyline 350GT and the Mazda RX-8 .
Additionally, the CANM8 system has been designed with flexibility in mind. We may be able to provide a bespoke solution for your CAN based automotive requirements. Please contact us with your enquiry. Please click here to view our full range of CAN Bus interfacing products. |
