New to the "CAN Mate" range of interfaces, the CANM8-TALK interface provides a cost effective solution to utilising factory installed phone steering wheel controls to operate the Nokia CK-7W Bluetooth car kit. The interface works by sensing the operation of the phone steering controls via the vehicle CAN Bus and then reproducing the appropriate control signals for the CK-7W. This gives a 'Factory Style' hands free solution at a fraction of the normal option cost.

Steering Controls Summary
- To answer an incoming call - press the Phone Answer Button once.
- To terminate a call - press the Phone Answer Button once.
- To make a call using Voice Tags - press the Phone Answer Button until the Voice Tags Request Jingle is heard and then release the button.
- Last Number Redial - press the Phone Answer Button twice.
- To increase caller conversation volume - press the '+' Volume Control Button.
- To decrease caller conversation volume - press the '-' Volume Control Button.
Installation
The CANM8-TALK interface is supplied ready for wire to wire connection at the rear of the audio unit, a 'Plug & Play' version of the interface for audio systems which require a mute interface is also available here. The interface has two connections to the CAN Bus system and three further connections to the permanent 12v, ground and mute connections at the rear of the radio.
A powering loom plug is supplied from the interface which connects directly to the CK-7W control unit. Similarly, a function control lead replaces the standard CK-7W rotary control switch lead - the standard control switch is not required with this installation. The speaker output from the CK-7W connects directly to the phone input connections at the rear of the radio to complete the installation.
Caller conversation volume is reproduced via the vehicles front speakers. There is no need to install the standard speaker which comes complete with the CK-7W kit. Complete installation instructions are supplied with the interface.
The CK-7W is automatically switched 'on' and 'off' by the interface, by sensing the vehicle ignition switch operation from the CAN Bus. No additional electrical connections are required.
